Plant Location Notes Finca La Selva, the OTS Field Station on the Rio Puerto Viejo just E of its junction with the Rio Sarapiqui. Elevation about 100 m.
Plant Description Notes Tree, 6 inches DBH, 25 feet in height. Flowers white except for outside of base of tube which is reddish. Flowers distylous, nocturnal, nectariferous. Long-style form. Middle of flowering season. “Loop trail Coussarea” of notes. Very similar to another species at La Selva which grows only in swamps and low depressions (“Swamp Coussarea”).
