Plant Location Notes Ca. 5.3 km. SE of El Empalme, Cordillera de Talamanca. Overgrown pasture and distrubed roadside banks. Elev. 2480-2500.
Plant Description Notes Scraggle sprawling sub-shrub with branches to 2-3 m. long. Hypanthia bright red. Petals pink. Large anthers deep pink to red, yellow below. Small anthers yellow with pinkish cast. Appendages yellow. Growing with M. floribundum but mostly restricted to thickets.
