Plant Location Notes Ca. 19-20 km. northwest of Cerro Asuncion (Cerro de la Muerte) on C. R. #2. Elev. ca. 2500-2600 m. 19.6 km. beyond El Empalme.
Plant Description Notes Shrubs 2-3 m. tall. Petals bright magenta. Filaments pink. Large anthers bright red. Small anthers and all appendages yellow. Hypanthia bright red at anthesis. Each specimen from a different plant. Locally common in somewhat overgrown pastures. In close proximity to dense thickets with plants of M. talamancense.
