Plant Location Notes Canton de Osa, Osa Peninsula, Reserva Forestal Gulfo Dulce. In Rancho Quemado Valley along Quebrada Quebradon and the Rio Riyito, 200 m, 8° 40' N, 83° 34' W.
Plant Description Notes Herb 1.7 m. Leaf sparkling dark green above; pale grey-green below. Pulvinus olive-green, petiole and sheath green. Base of sheath white, swollen. Peduncle green. Bracts purple or green. Ovary white. Sepals white below, apex purple. Corolla tube white, corolla lobes purple. Callose staminode yellow apically, white below; outer staminode yellow; cucullate staminode yellow. Extensive population where understory was cut out.
