Plant Location Notes El Llano-Carti Road, 12 km from turnoff on Pan Am Highway; elevation 1500 feet. Along roadside in secondary growth, not found very frequently in primary forest.
Plant Description Notes Plant 3.5 m, musoid. Leaves: petiole to 122 cm; blade to 230 x 49 cm; dark green, light green midrib above; green, yellow-green midrib below. Inflorescence pendulous; 82 cm long. Peduncle bright green; wooly. Rachis straight, light yellow. Branch bracts distichous. Bracts 10 cm long, margins straight, pale yellow pubescent inside; yellow, greenish midway, wooly outside. Floral bract yellow (pale). Flowers: free sepal below; perianth white basally, yellow apically, glabrous basally, pubescent apically; ovary white glabrous; pedicel white glabrous.
