Plant Location Notes 2 miles above Santa Fe, behind Escuela Agricultura; elev. 2600' ; in secondary growth along roadside.
Plant Description Notes Plant 4 m, musoid; petiole 105 cm, blade 148 cm long by 45 cm, dark green above, light green midrib; green below tinted maroon, yellowish midrib. Inflorescence pendulous, 68 cm long; peduncle dull yellowish red, scurfy-villous. Rachis flexuose, dull yellow. Branch bracts rotate, 10.5 cm long; margins involute at base. Insides red-yellowish, tomentose; outside red, to yellow at rachis, slightly scurfy. Floral bract yellow, free sepal below; perianth yellow to paler at base, free sepal and tip densely velutinous with golden hairs. Ovary white to pale yellow, pedicel white.
