Plant Location Notes 6 miles from El Valle de Rio Anton, behind the three peaks. Elev. 2700'. On steep semi-wooded slope 50 feet above a flowering stream.
Plant Description Notes Plant to 4 m, musoid; petioles 76 cm, blades 222 cm long by 34 cm. Upper surface dark green, with green midrib; dark green below with yellowish-green midrib. Inflorescence pendulous, 53 cm long; peduncle red, densely puberulous. Rachis flexuose, red; branch bracts rotate, 6.5 cm long, margins straight; yellow-red inside, red outside, rotting toward tip, stellate-scabrous. Flowers: floral bract white, free sepal below; perianth yellow, glabrous to slightly villous along midrib and free margins. Ovary pale yellow; pedicel pale yellow.
