Plant Location Notes Along Rio Guanche, 5 km from Porto Belo. Elevation about 50 feet. On elevated ground in old streambed, in secondary growth.
Plant Description Notes Plant 2.3 m, musoid. Leaves: petiole to 34 cm long, blade to 128 x 24 cm; green, light green midrib above; grey-green, dull yellow midrib below. Inflorescence pendulous, 47 cm long. Peduncle green and maroon, glabrous. Rachis flexuous, dull red. Branch bract rotate; 17 cm long; margins straight, flared at base: pale orange glabrous inside, red green towards apex, glabrous outside. Flowers: floral bract pale tan; free sepal below; perianth yellow basally, green apically, glabrous, slightly puberulous; ovary white pubescent, pedicel pale yellow.
