Plant Location Notes Heavily forested slopes along a ridge of the western side of Cerro Horqueta. Alt. about 1700-1800 m.
Plant Description Notes Shrub to 2 m. rooted in deep forest humus. Base of stems with reddish-brown bark, stems about 1-2 cm. at base. Branches green. Leaves thickly papery, green above, light green beneath, glossy both surfaces. Petioles pale green. Bracts pale green with a touch of pink at base and maybe along margins. Rachis pale green. Pedicels cream. Calyx totally pale green. Corolla white at extreme base and lobes, rose red remainder; margin of lobes also red.
