Plant Location Notes Ansermanuevo-San Jose del Palmar road, 2-5 kms E of San Jose del Palmar. Roadside slopes. Elev. 1200-1500m.
Plant Description Notes Terrestrial shrub with arching branches to 2m long; stems with odor of anise; rachis, pedicels & calyx green heavily suffused with purple; floral bracts, bracteoles & corolla tube dark wine-red; corolla limb & lobes whitish-red; young calyx lobes secreting a whie, viscid latex; berry purple. Scattered, but common.
