Plant Location Notes El Hato side of Volcan Chiriqui. Upland pastures in the vicinity of Las Nubes. Alt. approximately 7200 feet.
Plant Description Notes Erect shrub to 3 meters rooted in deep humus over rock to epiphytic (vine?). Bracts very deep purple. Rachis whitish to pink. Calyx pink to red tube usually green after corollas fall. Corolla tube white and constricted at base, the rest purple. Pubescence on corolla white. Young branches red above, green beneath. Common. Plants viscid.
