Plant Location Notes Headwaters of Rio Mascota [ca. 20 km., airline, southwest of Talpa de Allende]; 8-10 km. above (south of) El Rincon, on the road to Aserradero La Cumbre; steep mountain valley near rapid stream, with Alnus, Fraxinus, Salix, and with pine-oak forest on the hills above; elevation 1600 m.
Plant Description Notes Occasional, thickets near the stream. Treelike, 4 m. high; flowers purple; pappus white, prominent.
