Plant Location Notes Alto Calvario above El Cope, ca. 6 km N of El Cope, atlantic slope, along trail which leads W off old lumber trail which leads down to Las Ricas, Limon and San Juan. 89°39' N 80°36' W 710-800 m.
Plant Description Notes Appressed epiphyte; internodes to 1.5 cm long, 3 cm diam., with brownish periderm; petioles medium green with maroon lines, terete, narrowly and more or less acutely sulcate; dark maroon at apex; blades semiglossy, markedly bicolorous; minor veins distinct below; inflorescence 1 per axil; peduncle medium green with maroon lines; spathe dark green outside on tube, bright cherry-red on tube within, blades pale green (maroon short-lineate throughout); pistils greenish-white; the stigmas reddish; male spadix white.
